The Safety Scabbard® is the ultimate firearm protection system. The SafeTraveler® is designed to accept your long-gun, shotgun or rifle trigger first, making the trigger virtually impossible to access once the gun is properly secured. Safety Scabbard® system recognizes the requirement of shooting sports, sporting clays and other shotgun, rifle and long-gun organizations to store all firearms in a safe, upright position.

Whether you own a shotgun, double barrel, over & under, side-by- side, auto loader, pump action, rifle, scope-mounted rifle, bolt-action, automatic, pellet-gun or elephant-gun, SafeTraveler® will protect it. With a tapered aluminum shell and varied thickness of foam padding that lines the inner walls, your shotgun or rifle will be firmly secured in SafeTraveler® at all times. Safety Scabbard® also eliminates any abrasive rubbing action that could damage the finish of your valued shotgun or rifle.

A section along the side of the aluminum shell has micro-tabs in the bottom of each of the two v-shaped grooves at the outer edge on the right side of The SafeTraveler®. These micro-tabs may be popped loose and the section folded out to allow additional space for the bolt-action rifles and automatic shotguns without removing the padded, water resistant liner.

The Safety Scabbard® system’s simple and efficient design makes it easy to secure and retrieve your gun. A variety of mounting brackets allow you to place your SafeTraveler® on four wheelers, jeeps, tractor, trucks, boats or any vehicle of your choice.

History

“Having grown up an avid hunter, I have looked down more barrels than I like to think about,” said Randy McCrary, 44 of Estill. “Too often I’ve seen a rifle fall over while being transported to or from the field or woods following an afternoon of hunting.

The defining moment came when McCrary and a friend had finished a day of quail hunting and had returned to a lodge in an open vehicle. “Our ‘Sweet 16s’ weren’t in the racks of our vehicle. We backtracked and found the guns in the dirt where we had crossed a wooden bridge. The guns had bounced out without our realizing it.” McCrary said.

“Growing up in the metal trades as a millwright and being co-owner of McCrary’s Inc., I knew I had to develop a means of keeping my guns safe and secure. I was a young father and I wanted to protect both my family and the heritage of my guns,” he said. Thus the Safety Scabbard® gun containment system was born.

Its design is slim, safe and secure. “No longer do I worry about losing my guns on bumpy roads,” said McCrary. “I know my family, my friends and my long guns are safe to and from the field or woods.”
